Crossroads Community of Pflugerville Volunteer Opportunities

 

Website Overseer:

Works closely with our personal Webmaster to keep the website current and appealing to all users. Maintains information as well as provides creative and artistic input.

 

Marketing & Publications Overseer:

Creates and strengthens current networking relationships between businesses throughout the community. Oversees all print and radio advertising

 

Administrative Assistance:

Assist with clerical duties of CCOP, which will promote activities and feedback from the community.

 

Small Group Volunteers:

Plays an active role in bringing the community together through family oriented activities and participates in discussions of various topics.

 

Adult Educational Classes:

Assist or teach courses to the parents in the Brookfield Estates, Harris Ridge, Pflugerville Estates, River Ranch, Branch Creek Estates and Harris Branch Apts.  We are looking for:

Ø       A 6-week instructor;

Ø      You may choose the day of the week (Mon.-Fri. except Wed.)

Ø      Hours from 5:30p.m. – 7:00p.m. for the following classes:

1. Basic Computer

2. ESL (English as a Second Language

3. Basic Budgeting

4. Time Management 

5. Citizenship

 

Tutoring Students:

Mentor and/or tutoring students who are elementary, jr high, high school, and jr college students. Helping them with their homework and to be successful during testing time. 

 

We are looking for tutors who can offer help during the times listed below:

Primary Grade:                 K- 2                                                  3:00p.m. – 3:30p.m.

Elementary Grades:         K – 5                                                3:00p.m. – 3:30p.m.

Middle School Grades:   6 – 8                                                 3:30p.m. – 4:00p.m.

High school Grades:        9 – 12                                               4:30p.m.  - 5:00p.m.

Jr. College Courses:         1- 2 yrs. of college studies:          4:30p.m. – 5:00p.m.

(Early College Start Students)

 

Economic Services:

Assist the families in the CCOP area with needs. (food, medical needs and clothing).  Conduct various seminars that will enhance life situations for all family members.
